Theory Test Pro provides two key metrics to help assess study progress: average score and mastery. Previously, the mastery score was the percentage of questions in the test bank that you had answered correctly.
Once you correctly answered a question, it positively influenced your mastery percentage, however it was unaffected by how you performed on that question in the future. While this was motivating, it didn’t fully capture the fluidity of learning. Knowledge can shift; you might forget previously understood concepts or make errors under test conditions.
Introducing the revamped mastery score
To offer a more accurate view of your learning journey, we’ve updated how mastery is calculated. Now, it not only accounts for your successes but also adjusts for any setbacks.
If you answer a question correctly, your mastery score will go up. However, if you later get that same question wrong, your mastery will go down. This change means that mastery is a more accurate representation of your current knowledge level.
If you’ve been using Theory Test Pro for a while, you might notice your mastery score has gone down. This isn’t a setback but a reflection of the new, more dynamic nature of the new mastery score.
This adjustment ensures that your mastery score genuinely represents your current understanding, pushing you toward sustained knowledge and preparation.
