At Theory Test Pro, we know how important it is to make learning to drive as inclusive as possible. It’s why we’re promoting a new specialist tuition research project that’s just been launched by national charity Driving Mobility.

The project aims to source vital insights and feedback from ADIs about tuition for those living with any disability or health condition including physical, specific educational/developmental needs or hearing loss.

Inclusive approach

To achieve this, Driving Mobility is asking ADIs to fill in a short five-minute questionnaire. Your feedback will help the charity and stakeholders plan for the future and develop better provision for all those wishing to drive whatever their additional needs.

By sourcing the views from as many driving instructors as possible, this will help:

  • Deepen research into the current provision of specialist tuition
  • Help identify the barriers to working in this field
  • Uncover the regional variances in specialist tuition currently available
  • Develop clearer ideas for how an inclusive approach should look.

Following nationwide research, it is hoped that funding will continue to help develop and deliver a training programme for driving instructors and aid their entry into this highly specialist field. It is also hoped that funding will be available for ongoing resources, depending on the results from the research.

Take part now

To access the questionnaire, use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code that is relevant to you and your teaching.

If you are an ADI not currently offering specialist support, you can access the questionnaire via this link:

If you are an ADI who already offers specialist support, you can access the questionnaire via this link.

Alternatively, email sue@drivingmobility.org.uk if you require access to the questionnaire in a different format.

Please share

Finally, please share this blog post with any ADIs who you feel would like to take part. Driving Mobility needs as many instructors involved as possible to create the biggest source of information and insights. Every single ADI’s opinion counts.

“As a charity, we are not asking for anything other than five minutes of time … with your help and feedback, it is hoped that more funding will be made available to aid driving instructors with training and equipment, enabling them to diversify into the disability driving field.”
