DVLA warns drivers over scam emails

by Henry Dillon - 34 Secs Read

warning sign with exclamation markBeware a scam email that is doing the rounds at the moment. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is warning drivers and instructors to be on the lookout for emails that ask license holders to submit their details in order to ‘upgrade’ or ‘verify’ their license details. Drivers are then guided to a fake DVLA link where their submitted license details are stolen.

A copy of one of the scam emails can be seen on the Driving Standard’s Agency (DSA) site: http://content.govdelivery.com/bulletins/gd/UKDSA-44ffeb

(Those of you who enjoy hazard perception will note that the email contains numerous spelling errors, always a strong indicator of a scam.)
